High school 
wrestlers at West Monona have coaches that guide them in their emotional and cognitive mental training.  Coaches are aware of a wrestler's personality, learning style, and stressors.

Coaches provide the following mental training services to students.
Help students set goals.
Provide students with life skills education.
Academic Study Tables before school.

Coaches act as a liaison between students and the principal for the purpose of promoting a positive learning environment.
Administer student surveys
Talk to students about contemporary issues impacting the school.
Facilitate individualized instruction in our school by providing teachers with the dominant personality and learning style of their wrestlers
Act as a mentor for their wrestlers (http://checkandconnect.umn.edu/).
Promote student participation in extracurricular athletics and activities.
Keep track of their students' board required Spartan Service Hours
